Surveillance footage from David’s Hollywood Hills rental home is now reportedly in the possession of the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to a report by TMZ on October 15, LAPD officers seized security footage from the property last month while executing a search warrant related to the ongoing investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez — whose dismembered remains were discovered in the “Romantic Homicide” singer’s Tesla.

The property’s owner, Mladen Trifunovic, told TMZ that the exterior cameras installed around the house captured everyone entering and leaving the residence. He believes this footage could shed light on Rivas’s movements before her death.

Trifunovic explained that he hasn’t personally viewed the footage out of respect for the privacy of his tenants. He also claimed that the LAPD has yet to provide him with a copy of the search warrant or an inventory of what was taken during the search.

As previously reported, Trifunovic has since hired a private investigator to conduct an independent inquiry. “Our private investigator’s work is still ongoing, and I don’t have any findings to share at this time,” he said. “It’s still early in the process, and I want to respect both the LAPD’s investigation and the memory of the victim.”

Authorities say the 20-year-old singer’s Tesla had been parked a block away from the rental home before being towed to a Hollywood impound lot on September 5. It was there that tow yard employees discovered Rivas’s decomposing remains after noticing a strong odor coming from the vehicle.

Investigators believe Rivas had been dead for several weeks by the time she was found. She had been reported missing by her family earlier this year from her home in Lake Elsinore, California. Friends within David’s social circle reportedly thought she was 19.

Following the discovery, David canceled his tour, postponed the release of his deluxe album Withered indefinitely, and vacated the rental property.

Just last week, reports surfaced that the “Romantic Homicide” artist transferred ownership of his two Texas homes to his mother. The first transfer occurred on September 18 — the same day police were called to his Houston residence after a false report claimed a woman had been shot and killed there. The second transfer followed a few days later, on September 22.
