This 1970 Shelby GT500 in beautiful Grabber Green is not what you think.
Shelby did not produce any 1970 Shelby GT500s, but instead updated all of the VIN numbers on the unsold 1969 GT500s with the help of the FBI. Carroll Shelby had also discontinued his partnership with Ford in 1969 so these models were simply listed as Shelby GT500s.
These vehicles also had a variety of features not available in the standard Mustang. The styling featured on the 1969 and 1970 model years included a four-inch stretch to the front nose, which was designed and approved by Ford, but Shelby had no input. One of the exciting features are the sequential taillights, which were not a Mustang feature, but instead were available on the Mercury Cougar.
