Another Top Gun AU! This is a bit of a mess, I'm sorry. Danny doesn't have a ton of footage, at least that I have access to. Flo has a ton, but I was limited by what works with Danny's. I think the other one was easier because it had more actual Top Gun stuff in it. In this one, Top Gun is not as important because it's just where the characters meet, they don't get together until later. And Mickey is barely a character.

I won't rehash the timeline stuff (read the description here:    • rooster & apollo; that's so true. {top gun...  ), but the short of it is: it's 2012. Mickey is 24. My OC, Erin, is 23.

Story:
Erin Kazansky is the eldest child of Tom "Iceman" and Sarah Kazansky. She is a bit of a control freak and a perfectionist. She decided to follow in her dad's footsteps. Her callsign, "Flygirl" is a nickname that her dad gave her. She's the youngest graduate of Top Gun and the most recent graduate recruited to train for a new mission. She barely has any combat experience, so this is more of a learning opportunity for her. She knows she won't be picked, no matter how good she is. But she could use the distraction from having to think about her dad dying from cancer. Training does work as a distraction for awhile. Mav is like a second father to her and Rooster is a friend (Tom occasionally reached out to Rooster after he cut ties with Mav to keep an eye on him, as a favor). She also meets Mickey "Fanboy" Garcia. There's an instant spark between them, but Erin keeps him at arm's length because of everything going on. They're still friends, though, and he comforts her after her father passes. They keep in contact after the mission is over and the vibe becomes flirty, but Erin is still hesitant. She just lost her father, and she doesn't want to lose this guy that she really likes. Eventually, she decides the risk is worth it and asks Mickey out.
