This baby is a male born on August 11, 2025 at Columbus Zoo to first-time mother Kibibi.
The baby bonobo has been named Winstel, after Don Winstel, who worked at Columbus Zoo for 36 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a strong advocate for bonobos during his time at the zoo and still serves as a mentor to many staff members.
