Among the most sought-after sets made by Lionel, the Union Pacific Number 2023 Alco was introduced in 1950. Host John Long Silver chronicles the history of the special "Anniversary Set" which came out 50 years after the Lionel Manufacturing Company was founded back in 1900. It features a powered A and non-powered A unit, along with a "Plainfield" pullman coach, a "Westfield" pullman coach and a "Livingston" observation car. Silver explains that for his consist, he is missing the 2482 "Planfield" to complete his set. (He did find a more recently manufactured 6068 "Romeo" baggage car to include in his set for the time being.) Silver also shares helpful passages from the resource "Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains 1945-1969" by David Doyle.
