Format: Interactive roundtable with live audience polling and Q&A.
This interactive roundtable explores how we define heritage in the context of vines. Perspectives from science, history, policy, and the vineyard will be brought into conversation, as our panellists debate whether heritage can, or should, be measured.
The significance (and limitations) of vine age, the ancient soils they grow in, the genetic lineage of the plant material and the broader cultural narrative will be among the considerations and audience members will play an active role through live polling that aims to spark an open dialogue on how the concept of heritage can (or cannot) be defined.
Moderated by: Jess Lander, Wine Reporter, San Francisco Chronicle
Panellists: Robert Joseph, Wine Writer & Author, Adam Casto, Winemaker, Ehlers Estate, Alder Yarrow, Architect & Manager of the Old Vine Registry and US correspondent, jancisrobinson.com
