Birsa Munda Airport is a domestic airport serving the city Ranchi and is managed by Airports Authority of India. It is located in Hinoo locality, approximately 7 km (4.3 mi) from the centre of the city. It is the 37th busiest airport in India. Till 2005 it had only 2 flights a day operated by Indian Airlines. In 2005 Air Deccan Started operating to Kolkata, Patna, Raipur and Delhi making the total flights going up to 7 a day now daily 12 flights from different cities. It is named after an Indian tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
There is only one integrated Terminal with facilities for travel desks, lounges, etc. was inaugurated on 24 March 2013 in a function attended by Mr. Ajit Singh, Minister of Civil Aviation, Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh, Jharkhand governor Syed Ahmed, Ranchi MP Subodh Kant Sahay and Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu. In the next few days, the tax on ATF was reduced from 20% to 4% to attract more airlines to the city. Also, night landing at BMA has been made free so that there may be more flights to the metro cities in the morning. #ranchi #jharkhand #nightvlog

Ranchi , Hindi: [रांची]) is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Ranchi was the centre of the Jharkhand movement, which called for a separate state for the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Orissa, western West Bengal and the eastern area of what is present-day Chhattisgarh. The Jharkhand state was formed on 15 November 2000 by carving out the Bihar divisions of Chota Nagpur and Santhal Parganas. Ranchi has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under PM Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission.

During the time of British, the city was used to be the summer capital of Bihar. This is because of its climate during winter season.[8] Ranchi is also one of the oldest cities in Jharkhand. Jagannath Temple and Ratu Palace are the sights which are also witness for the history of Ranchi.

Now Ranchi is developing its economy. And for this its parks, special economic zones and industrial areas are being developed. Recently new sectors and modern areas are developed for the city's development. Ranchi is also called 'City of Waterfalls'

रांची, भारत के झारखंड राज्य की राजधानी है। रांची झारखंड आंदोलन का केंद्र था, जिसने दक्षिण बिहार, उत्तरी उड़ीसा, पश्चिमी पश्चिम बंगाल के आदिवासी क्षेत्रों और वर्तमान छत्तीसगढ़ के पूर्वी क्षेत्र के लिए एक अलग राज्य की मांग की थी। झारखंड राज्य का गठन 15 नवंबर 2000 को छोटा नागपुर और संथाल परगना के बिहार डिवीजनों को मिलाकर किया गया था।
