Kohei Kyomori introduces the essence of decorative arts in his unique expressions by exploring the possibilities of our visual language today. Re-examining the messages and impact using the knowledge we have when referring to the significance of symbology in the otherworldly and mysticism, he converges the decorative elements from ancient and modern times serving as a device to inspire, uplift, entertain, or devastate.
In his recent work, Kyomori participates in a rare collaboration with Kyoto’s woodblock printmakers UNSODO (1891) that speak of a union in the semantic complexities of our contemporary visual language.
