Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, also sometimes abbreviated as SHIA or Soetta, and formerly legally called Jakarta Cengkareng Airport, is the primary airport serving the Jakarta metropolitan area on the island of Java in Indonesia. The airport is named after the first President of Indonesia, Soekarno, and the first Vice-President, Mohammad Hatta. Officially opened in 1985. Terminal 3 has the capacity to serve 25 million international passengers each year. The new Terminal 3 has 10 gates operating international flights and 18 gates for domestic flights, 206 check-in counters, 38 self-check-in and 12 bag drop counters, 59 aerobridges, a wide variety of duty-free shops and restaurants
