How To Oil Out a Finished Painting and Why It Helps! Learn About This One Step Before Varnishing.

😊 Please excuse my use of "oiling in" and "oiling out" interchangeably! It refers to the same process. 🎨 Essentially, it’s the technique of applying a thin layer of oil medium with solvent to a dried (or partially dried) oil painting to restore the vibrancy of the colors, correct gloss vs. matte spots, and, importantly, create a uniform surface to prepare the painting for the final step of varnishing (after completely dry). 🖌️ Learn more in my video—key chapters below! 📺✨
