With us here at RFH Classics we have this 1972 (K) Rover P6 3500 V8 4 Dr Auto finished in Red with Black Leather interior trim. The Rover P6 is such an icon of a car that is recognisable wherever it goes and this particular example is a little bit special too having only had 2 Owners from new and covered less than 31k. The first owner lived in North London and during the 42 years he owned the car rarely used it. The early MOT records indicate that during the first 22 years of ownership he had done less than 27,000 miles with it then going on to do less than 600 miles over the next 20 years before changing hands in 2014 at 27,575 miles.

We recently purchased the car from the 2nd owner where it had been part of a small collection of cars owned by someone who we would like to describe as a ‘classis enthusiast’. He told me how he had stumbled upon the advert and almost passed up going to see it as the advert was so terrible, luckily for him though he didn't as it turned out to be something a little special. He agreed to buy the car and took it home where over the past 10 years he has loving cared for it, and that shows. Originally the car was the less than desirable Almond exterior so he to the decision to undertake, at great expense, a change to the colour seen today. Now I know some will say it should be original but personally we feel it was a good change and that the car looks much better for it. The exterior has just been professionally 2 stage detailed and has a deep shine with minimal patina for a 52 year old car.

This P6 has great presence and comes complete with the Black Leather interior which are in excellent condition and reassuringly comfortable. The car benefits from a full length Webasto sunroof which we have checked and can confirm works well and has not leaked. It is surprising how the Webasto really does make the cabin feel so much more spacious. The dash and rest of the interior trim are in lovely condition as would be expected and overall the whole interior is in excellent condition. Under the bonnet sits the Rover V8 that is guaranteed to bring a little smile to your face when you turn the key and the 8 cylinders all fire into life, there’s nothing like a V8 for fantastic burble. The engine is paired to an Automatic gearbox with Overdrive that on the drive we have done in the car performs well and has no issues. In the office we have an extensive file of paperwork for the car including a vast amount of old MOT tests supporting the mileage as well as invoices for work undertaken to the car. In addition we have the original owners manual and Three Thousand Five Owners instruction books complete in the folder.
