Vilnius was expanded heavily during the Soviet occupation of Lithuania. Many similar-looking Soviet districts were built to the city's noth and west. However, Žirmūnai was the first one of them all. In this Lithuanian Drone Tour, we fly over the Vilnius's first Soviet district, telling its stories from ~1960s to these days, showing both the aging and renovated apartments and the newest additions, such a new residential-commercial area that has replaced a Russian and Soviet army base.
