Widespread power outages and dangerous road conditions will be the main concerns with an ice storm forecast for the coming weekend (Jan. 24-25, 2026) for most of central North Carolina. Saturday and Sunday will be WRAL Weather Alert Days, along with Monday and Tuesday, as poor road conditions are expected to linger due to several days of below-freezing temperatures.
