Senior Dog Gets 5th Librela Shot For Arthritis And Is Doing Great!

This is Cole's Fifth Shot of Librela: Cole the English Springer Spaniel has bad arthritis in his back and can't handle much medication but his every 5 week Librela shot makes him feel much better. Cole now plays with his girl Ember and acts like a puppy. So far Librela has been a good experience for us.

Cole the English Springer Spaniel hasn't been feeling so well lately so we took him to the vet to get checked over. We worried that something was wrong or failing. Turns out his arthritis in his back was bothering him. We tried Metacam and Gabapentin but they both seemed to make him sleepy. So our vet recommended we try this once-a-month shot medication called Librela. Librela is a drug for the alleviation of pain associated with osteoarthritis in dogs. The medication contains a canine monoclonal antibody (mAb) which targets nerve growth factor (NGF). This inhibits NGF-mediated cell signaling which can relieve pain associated with osteoarthritis.
