The BMW M8 Competition is a four-seater saloon car, with the performance of a supercar. It's able to deploy 600 horsepower, in any conditions, carrying four passengers and a boot full of luggage. Here's my review of living with the M8 Competition – a car that gave me mixed first impressions but ultimately left me wanting one. In the real world, there's no faster car on the road.
We show off its incredible 0-100kph / 0-60mph acceleration in under 3.0 seconds, faster even than BMW's claimed figures, We show the launch control, exhaust sound, the lacking interior quality, M dynamic modes, driver assistants, boot space, the handling and driver engagement, and discuss whether it's worth its extraordinary price of $400,000 AUD on-road. The M8 Competition is priced to rival cars like the Porsche 911 Turbo, and near-new Aston Martin DB11's or Bentley Continentals. How can a big BMW compete?
