Das Ende naht ... - Palastruine im ehem. Gross Kotzenau

Leider konnte ich zu diesem Palast mit seiner mehr als 800jährigen Geschichte keine Bauherren- oder Besitzerinformationen mittels Internet ausfindig machen.
Wahrscheinlich haben die Nazis mit der Übernahme des Gebäudes als Hauptquartier des Frauenarbeitsdienstes 1935 alle anderen Unterlagen „entsorgt“.
Seit dem nach der Wende ein Privater Investor den Palast aufgekauft hat verfällt der Palast zunehmend schneller.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find any information about the owner of this palace, which has a history going back more than 800 years.
The Nazis probably "disposed of" all other documents when they took over the building as the headquarters of the Women's Labor Service in 1935.
Since a private investor bought the palace, the palace has been falling into disrepair at an ever faster rate.

Information about history:

There was already a defensive structure on this site at the end of the 12th century.
In the 14th century, a brick castle was built, the original appearance of which is unfortunately no longer known.
In the 16th century, the building was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, of which the stone window surrounds on the ground floor have been preserved to this day. Renovations in the 17th to 19th centuries transformed the building into a palace without defensive structures.
A three-story building with a basement was built from old, thick walls, supported by buttresses in the corners.
The entrance was decorated with a stone portal.
In 1935, the palace was converted into the headquarters of the women's labor service.
After the end of the Second World War, the partially damaged building was used as a school until 1955.
As with hundreds of other buildings, the palace, which was no longer maintained and unattended, quickly fell into disrepair. It was quickly completely destroyed by theft of building materials.

Today, all that remains of the palace are a few overgrown walls. The gable walls are still partially standing and the floor plan from the Renaissance reconstruction period has been preserved to this day. The moat that once surrounded the castle is also still partially visible.
