BJP ने 3.0 सरकार तो बना ली लेकिन सबसे बड़ा झटका यूपी से लगा. BJP सिर्फ 33 सीटों पर सिमट गई। और इससे भी बड़ा झटका बीजेपी को तब लगा जब उसके हाथ से अयोध्या की फैजाबाद लोकसभा सीट ही निकल गई. और फैजाबाद से सपा के अवधेश प्रसाद जीतकर संसद पहुंच गए. बड़ी बात ये कि अवधेश प्रसाद मुख्य तौर पर दलित पासी समुदाय से आते हैं और 9 बार विधायक रहे हैं.
लेकिन अवधेश प्रसाद के साथ ही अब चर्चा होने लगी है कि कितने दलित सांसद इस बार यूपी से जीतकर पहुंचे. उत्तर प्रदेश में 17 लोकसभा सीटें रिजर्व हैं, जिसमें 16 सीटें अनुसूचित जाति (दलित) के लिए आरक्षित हैं तो एक सीट अनुसूचित जनजाति के लिए रिजर्व है. इस बार रिजर्व सीटों से ज्यादा दलित सांसद बने हैं. सूबे में 17 दलित सांसद चुने गए हैं, जिसमें बीजेपी से सात, सपा के सात, एक कांग्रेस और आजाद समाज पार्टी से एक. दलितों में इस बार पासी समुदाय से सबसे ज्यादा सांसद जीतकर आए हैं. बीजेपी से 3 और सपा से पांच पासी सांसद बने हैं. बीजेपी से कमलेश पासवान बांसगांव से, हरदोई से जय प्रकाश और मिश्रिख से अशोक कुमार रावत जीते हैं जबकि सपा के टिकट पर मोहनलालगंज से आरके चौधरी, मछलीशहर से प्रिया सरोज, लालगंज से दरोगा प्रसाद सरोज, कौशांबी से पुष्पेंद्र सरोज और फैजाबाद से अवधेश प्रसाद जीते हैं. फैजाबाद सीट अनरिजर्व थी, जहां से सपा ने दलित प्रत्याशी उतारा था.

This time, more Dalit MPs have been elected than the reserved seats. 17 Dalit MPs have been elected in the state, out of which seven are from BJP, seven from SP, one from Congress and one from Azad Samaj Party. Among Dalits, this time the maximum number of MPs have won from the Pasi community. 3 Pasi MPs have been elected from BJP and five from SP. BJP's Kamlesh Paswan has won from Bansgaon, Jai Prakash from Hardoi and Ashok Kumar Rawat from Misrikh while SP's RK Chaudhary from Mohanlalganj, Priya Saroj from Machhlishahr, Daroga Prasad Saroj from Lalganj, Pushpendra Saroj from Kaushambi and Awadhesh Prasad from Faizabad have won on SP's ticket. Faizabad seat was unreserved, from where SP had fielded a Dalit candidate.
