Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty.
Geographic positioning has endowed Bangladesh with a diverse climate.
Throughout the year Bangladesh is visited by six seasons with distinct characteristics.
Summer, Rainy Season, Autumn, Late-Autumn, Winter and Spring – these six seasons come to Bangladesh with their unique look.
Each season, with its distinct flowers, adds more color to the nature of Bengal.
With such changing attire Bangladesh’s nature remains forever fresh and diverse.
Summer comes to Bangladesh with scorching heat waves and storms.
Summer is considered first in the seasonal cycle of Bengal.
In this time, blossoms of diverse flowers add color to nature.
Royal Poinciana, Queen’s Crape-myrtle, Rose, Telshur, Cannonball flower, Vasaka, Wild Ginger, Golden Shower, Mango-pine, Albizia etc. are prominent among those.
After Summer’s heat, Rainy Season comes as a breath of fresh air.
Heavy rainfall of Rainy Season gives nature a new appearance.
Monsoon clouds change colors very often, sometimes it’s sunny and sometimes it’s raining.
Rainy Season washes away the weariness of nature.

Diverse known and unknown flowers fill the paths and meadows of Bengal.
Prominent among these are Burflower, Fragrant Screwpine, Orange jasmine, Jasmine, Crape Jasmine, Arabian jasmine, Malati, Flame lily, Water Lily, Lotus, Water hyacinth, Crested Floating Heart etc.

After endless monsoon rain, Autumn appears with its soothing beauty.
As the downpour of Bangla month Ashar & Shraban subside, Autumn arrives in Bhadra and Aashin month.
Autumn sky takes on its brilliant blue.
It rains sometimes but doesn’t last long.
Kans flower has a close connection to Autumn.
Pure white Kans flower signals the arrival of Autumn.
With multi-colored flower nature takes on a new attire.
Night-flowering jasmine is often seen lying beneath the tree.
Its sweet aroma spread all around.
During this time, many flowers like Orange jasmine and Devil’s tree flower make the environment enchanting.
Arabian jasmine is a flower of Rainy Season, but is seen in Autumn too.

In character Winter is totally different from other seasons of Bangladesh.
Different flower blossom to brighten the fading nature of winter.
At that time, nature is decorated with many colored flowers like Rose, Sunflower, Dahlia, Marigold, Royal jasmine, Arabian jasmine etc.
The magnificent beauty of Yellow Mustard Flower make winter amazing.
The dry nature of Winter regains youth in Spring.
Flowers blossom, birds sing.
Varied aromatic and colorful flowers enhance Spring’s beauty.
Among Spring flowers are: Madhavi, Golden champa, Indian rose chestnut, Bastard teak, Silk cotton, Indian Cork Tree, Ashoka, Mountain ebony, Honey tree, Golden Shower, Bluebird Vine, Glory Bower and other species.
There are several orchids and wildflowers too.
Apart from seasonal flowers, many other flowers bloom throughout the year in Bangladesh.
Among those varied colored Chinese hibiscus, Crape periwinkle, Jungle Flame are prominent.
These beautiful flowers are now endangered for various reasons.
Deforestation, felling of various flowering plants are making them scarce in nature.
With the vanishing flowers, dependent insects are also being threatened.
Process of pollination is getting disrupted.
So, we all should be aware and conscious to conserve these plants.
With seasonal cycle, various flowers bloom at different times of the year.
If these diverse flowers sustain in nature, the natural balance will be maintained, and nature will remain colorful throughout the year.
