On May 14th people from across the Northeast stopped oil trains in the port of Albany with their bodies. They stopped the “bomb train”, the presence of which is an act of environmental racism, class prejudice, and an illegal breach of the public trust. These dedicated community members made it clear that the health and safety of the residents of Albany matter, and that they have an ethical duty to secure human rights of future generations when government has so dramatically failed to do so. Over a thousand people joined that day, and over 600 people planned to risk arrest to stop the train.
