Filming One Pedal Driving Fun in IONIQ Electric EV!

One pedal driving - driving mainly or exclusively on the accelerator/throttle pedal, not touching the brakes - is a real boons of electric cars. Their regenerative braking can slow the car down without use of the mechanical/friction brakes and - for a lot of driving - any need to use the brake pedal.

Our Hyundai IONIQ Electric has adjustable regen levels via steering wheel paddles. It can recoup up to about -88kW in optimal conditions. You can enjoy the fun of a drive without using the friction/mechanical brakes, keeping hands on the wheel at all times thanks - as it's automatic transmission too - and just enjoy driving the road ahead.

Sudden sunny weather and twisty nice English countryside roads called so I used an excuse of taking my kids to their favourite 'chippy' to try to capture the fun of one pedal driving in our IONIQ Electric EV.

I used a two camera setup, and a Lume Cube for extra light in the footwell. My first setup wasn't great but the second gave clear footage of just how little my right foot had to move between pedals.
