Missile defense systems: the 2K11 Krug is a Soviet and now Russian medium-range, medium-to-high altitude surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. The system was designed by NPO Novator and produced by Kalinin Machine Building Plant. NATO classification – SA-4 Ganef. The complex is designed to engage all types of aircraft at speeds of up to 700 m / s in the 11-45 km range and 3-23 km in altitude in any meteorological conditions. The early version of the Krug entered service in 1965.
