আজকের ব্লগে আমরা কাশ্মীরে মেয়েদের বিয়ের আগের বিশেষ রীতি অনুযায়ী কোরআন পাঠের পর সবাইকে খাওয়ানোর জন্য বিরিয়ানি রান্না করছিলাম। বিরিয়ানি করতে করতে অনেক মজার গল্প আর জীবনের কিছু দুঃখ-কষ্টের কথাও উঠে এল। জানলাম, আমার খালার ছেলে ছোটবেলায় কাউকে না বলে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে চলে এসেছিল, তাকে খুঁজে পাওয়ার সেই কান্না-হাসির স্মৃতিও আজ ফিরে এল।

বিরিয়ানি রান্নার সাথে সাথে আমরা রায়তা তৈরির জন্য সবজি কাটলাম এবং কাশ্মীরের ঐতিহ্যবাহী পাথরের হামানদিস্তায় মশলা বাটা দেখালাম। শ্রীনগরের বিখ্যাত হোটেল পরিচালনাকারী ভাই আজ আমাদের জন্য উনানের আগুনে বিরিয়ানি রান্না করে দেখালেন। কত সুন্দর পরিবেশ, কত সুন্দর মানুষের মন!

শেষে সবার সাথে বসে হাসতে হাসতেই বললাম, “এবার এই রেসিপি আমি শিখে নিয়ে বাড়িতে সবাইকে খাওয়াবো!”

In today’s vlog, we prepared Biryani in Kashmir for a special pre-wedding tradition where the Holy Qur’an is recited and food is served to everyone with love. While cooking, we shared stories, laughed, and remembered some emotional memories.

We also talked about how my aunt’s son once left Kashmir and moved to West Bengal without telling anyone, and how the family searched for him with tears until they finally found him again. These moments were full of feelings and family bonding.

We prepared Biryani along with Raita, chopped fresh vegetables, and used a beautiful traditional stone grinder that is commonly used in Kashmiri kitchens. The brother who cooked the Biryani owns a well-known hotel in Srinagar. He cooked the Biryani on a traditional wooden-fire stove outside, and it felt so warm and special.

At the end, we all sat together, enjoyed the food, and I said, “I will learn this Biryani recipe properly and cook it at home for everyone too!”
