I made this video on 2/22/2025 and on 3/22/2025.
In Part 1, I meant to say first time changing the tires at the same time: Front and Rear tires.Because I’ve change the rear tires a couple of times already but never both at the same time until this video.
Part 1:
Fast Lap: 7.65 (my R.1)
Next Fast Lap: 7.88 (not mine, different car)
I put this R.1 3500 car together on November 18, 2024 and I did maybe 300-400 laps a month on this car. I don't use this car much because its too fast to drive around with the local drivers. The perfect speed to play around with others are: MR04 with 5600KV motor and the 2500KV LiPo cars. This is why I have been wanting to change my old tires to this new tires that I prepped back in late November, to see if this car will perform just like it did with the previous tires (same model tires) and it did! The car was .09 secs faster with the new tires. Note that the old tires aren't completely worn out. I can still use them but I just want to try new tires with taller sidewall to see if the car would traction roll since the track grip was higher than usual when I was doing the test. I only traction rolled once and that was on my 5th lap. Because the car was feeling really good, I started pushing the car and had completely forgotten that I was on new tires. That was it though, 1 roll. I will say that the front tires needed around 15-20 laps to break in properly.
Part 2:
Four different layouts in 5 weeks. I used the exact same tires and setup for all 4 tracks. No change in ride height, camber, caster, springs, etc... Same setup! This setup is still the same from November 2024 when I first got my car. I haven't chased setup on this car which is quite impressive! It's also setting up the fastest lap locally. I had to mention that to give you an idea that I am pushing the car whenever I'm driving it on the track and still the tires are lasting for a while.
Note: Don't ask for shim stack. I'm not going to give that. I adjust as I go, just like you would with coilovers when the tires are wearing down. I don't want to create confusion if I give out that stack.
