GRAN CANARIA North | Puerto de Las Nieves | Piscina Natural Rock Pools | Agaete Canary Islands Spain

Hola, this is Phil Travel YouTube channel. The small fishing town of Agaete is located on the North West of Gran Canaria, just 30km from the capital city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. To get here, I took the public bus Global line 130 semi-direct from San Telmo Bus Station in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Puerto de las Nieves (literally meaning Port of the Snow in English) in Agaete. I alighted the bus at Puerto de las Nieves Bus Stop near Plaza de Nestor Alamo in Puerto de las Nieves. The bus journey took about 1hr and the fare is EUR4.30 pp per way. The coastal town looks out over the Atlantic Ocean. I have read somewhere that the town of Agaete is one of the few places in Europe where coffee is produced, and it grows one of the most ancient varieties. Puerto de las Nieves is the port area of Agaete with a ferry harbour, a pebble beach, a tourist office, restaurants, shops and natural rock pools. Las Nieves Beach, just a little rocky/pebble beach, is located by El Puerto de las Nieves. Stunning views of the dramatic cliffs from the beach and port area. There is a restaurant and a hotel close to the beach. El Puerto de las Nieves or Puerto de Agaete is where ferry boats can berth.
One can walk along the seaside promenade from the beach and port area to the Natural Swimming Pools area. The walk from the natural pools area to the town centre of Agaete takes about 30 mins.
