Tommy's Trains - Acklington Railway Station

We visited one of our favourite stations, Acklington Railway Station for a Sunday afternoon of trainspotting. It's a great station with a very picturesque house on platform 2 and a lovely straight track where the trains pass at 100mph.

We were looking forward to seeing the one freight train that was due, a 66 Class we hadn't seen before. 66706 Nene Valley wasn't pulling anything as it flew past. We also saw quite a few liveries including Thank You and Century.

This time next week, we'll be on our half term adventure around the North West or England. Please comment with your suggestions of stations we should visit. So far, our list consists of Carlisle, Preston, Blackpool, Manchester Victoria and Crewe.

We are Tommy and Daddy and we are passionate about trains and planes, but mostly trains. After seeing some older boys creating videos of trains at our local station, we were inspired to give it a go ourselves. Our main aim is to have fun spending quality father/son time together whilst creating videos of interesting trains at lots of different stations, waving at the drivers to show how much we appreciate them.
