Sonic Team Mini Game Collection - Full Translation

A few years ago, I made a patch for an app included in the GameCube Software e-Catalog 2003 disc, the patch only changed the title ID in the GBA multiboot (called Joy-Carry in Japan) ROM, this allowed transferring Chao to the NTSC/PAL releases of SADX/SA2B and back to the GBA games.

But I wanted to go further, first I extracted the app from the disc and relieved it from a 1 GB file size to just under 9 MB. I checked the main.dol for all relevant text strings and replaced them.

Then I remade a ton of the graphics, I did my best to mimic the original design. And I lifted the translated logos of the mini games from the official releases (Billy Hatcher in this case) for these ROMs: PuyoPop and ChuChu Rocket, and for the Tiny Chao Garden I use the same/unmodified ROM because it supports multi-lang from the get-go, I used Sonic DX to find out what it patches to change language, though the title screen is only available in Japanese or English.

NOTE: Currently there is no patch for download, a patch file would involve too many problems, it would have to contain a full copy of PuyoPop and ChuChu Rocket, as well as require downloading (or ripping) the 1GB demo disc just to get it down to a 10 MB file, it's not practical. I may post the resources used for the translation, but then I feel it would be too complicated to setup for what should be something very simple.

NOTE2: A native Wii app has been made that replicates the "rare chao transfer" portion of this, to send the rare chao directly to a Garden save on a memory card dump on sd or usb. For use with Wii consoles that lack GC ports. Release date unknown yet.

If you want to send your chao to the PAL version of SADX or SA2B you will need to unpack the ISO to support this change OR enable this code:
