Painting the largest model I've ever built - 1/35 Leopold 280mm Railway Gun from Trumpeter

Recently Gaahleri sent me one of their airbrush products to try out, the Mobius-TG O.5mm. The airbrush is a pistol grip style with a 0.5mm needle which I was keen to try and I have to say it performed brilliantly. Its the first time I've used a pistol grip style airbrush and its very comfortable in the hand, not a unique feature I know but worth mentioning. The airbrush comes with two types of tip cover, one gives a normal circular spray pattern and the other gives a fan shaped pattern, either vertically or horizontally, depending on how the fan tip is orientated. The fan tip proved great for laying down a quick, even coverage over a large area using the VMS No-Peel primer in Panzer Grey as both a base coat and a primer. A quick change over to the round tip and I was able to add highlights etc using the AK 3rd Gen Panzer Grey paint set. Even though its a 0.5mm needle I was able to get nicely controlled lines and spray highlights to some pretty small parts. It was also very easy to clean out and take apart despite it looking more complex than an ordinary style airbrush. All in all, for a large needle, workhorse type of airbrush then I'd say that this one does exactly what it says it does and also has a smaller spray capability if you need it. It isn't an airbrush capable of spray painting highly detailed camo patterns etc but Gaalheri have a few options available for that type of work as well.
