Like lots of things the key is really to take your time and plan what you are planning to do.
Positive attitude is also a key component to getting this done safely and smoothly. Try to think about what you are going to do not what you don't want to happen. Don't watch what other drivers are doing often they have done it wrong for years so will 100% not be the best example for you. Remember that in the UK we drive on the left and go round things clockwise so bare this in mind when you are choosing your initial position.
