Welcome back to my art room! Today we’re diving into another Color Cube Series painting using Sarah Renee Clark’s Color Cube Volume 1 – Palette #12. This palette is bold, bright, and full of primary colors that mix into beautiful secondaries—reds, yellows, blues, greens, and of course… mustard (which seems to sneak into every palette! 😉).
In this video, I’ll show you step by step how I explore this vibrant palette through layered abstract painting techniques. I’ll be working with Lucas Krill acrylics, Neocolor II crayons, Posca pens, stencils, and even some DIY tools to build colorful textures and playful shapes. You’ll see how I handle the “messy middle” of abstract painting, push through frustration, and eventually bring each piece to life with color, balance, and surprising details.
✨ What you’ll get in this video:
A deep dive into Color Cube Palette #12
Tips for layering with acrylics and water-soluble crayons
Experiments with stencils, mark-making, and DIY tools
Honest insights into the creative process (including when things don’t go as planned!)
Finished mini artworks that showcase this bold, primary-inspired palette
Whether you’re here for abstract painting inspiration, learning how to use color palettes effectively, or just love watching the messy, magical process of creating art, this video is for you.
