We’ve made some changes to our schedule as we head into the cooler months. We do quite a bit of training most days to keep everyone’s general behaviour in check, but we would like to use some of the fun farm activities like lure coursing, bite work, flirt pole, dock diving etc to achieve a range of things in a fun way for the dogs, most especially those that need it. Proofing some of the pack members’ responsiveness, testing new commands, training some pack members to focus on the game not the dog, increasing confidence and lots of other things. To the dogs that love the game, it’s simply all fun. And for Luke, it helps him better manage the pack. So we think it’s a win win.
Whilst some of the dogs participated in training, the other dogs were playing in the playground or sleeping on the couch or swimming in the dam or chasing birds or sitting in the kitchen waiting for a tidbit … all the usual activities of life on the farm.
