Black Women and the Fight for Suffrage

During the suffrage movement, Black women experienced a different world than White women. This video contains extended interview clips from Discovering New York Suffrage Stories, which illustrates and more deeply explains the particular challenges and struggles Black women faced in the 1800s, both within and outside the suffrage movement.
