In this episode Caf and Saund travel to Chongqing. The place is home to 32 million people, absolutely crazy to think . The urban core is extremely dense, built vertically into mountains and cliffs. The terrain is steep and rugged, with neighbourhoods built on multiple elevation levels. The city spans the Yangtze and Jialing rivers and has hundreds of bridges connecting districts. Due to humidity and topography, Chongqing often appears wrapped in fog or clouds, giving rise to nicknames like “City of Fog”. The city is considered the birthplace of spicy Sichuan-style hotpot, famous for chilli oil, numbing peppercorns, which we both love. The city has a deep and rich history for which we also observed.
