Kruger National Park Bird Watching - Malelane, Skukuza, Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge Birding

We were treated to some great Winter birding in the southern Kruger National Park during this trip! We entered at Malelane Gate and exited through Malelane Gate, but we traveled to Berg-en-dal, Skukuza, Pretoriuskop, Crocodile Bridge, Lower Sabie, Lake Panic and Sunset Dam (Amongst adjacent regions). We had some fantastic, first class bird watching.

What can I say? This was the best "off season" birding I have ever done in the Kruger National Park. We saw a variety of bird species, and got them on video too, of which some of them included: Black-headed Oriole, Southern Ground Hornbill, Yellow-billed Hornbill, Laughing Dove, Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, Goliath Heron, Blue Waxbill, Golden-breasted Bunting, Burchell's Coucal, African Fish Eagle, White-backed Vulture, Yellow-throated Longclaw, Fork-tailed Drongo, Wire-tailed Swallow, Reed Cormorant, Martial Eagle, Greater Blue-eared Starling, Natal Spurfowl, African Spoonbill, Three-banded Plover, Hadeda Ibis, Egyptian Goose, and wow I could go on and on, it was so amazing.

Personal favourites included the beautiful close up sightings of the Burchell's Coucal, great sighting of Blue Waxbill; Green-winged Pytilia and Golden-breasted Bunting, Yellow-throated Longclaw and the amazing Black-headed Oriole, which was basically our last bird sighting! What a great trip, and what a great bunch of birds. This video has various bird calls played in the background for your enjoyment.
