A description of how a mechanical advantage technology evolved in ancient Egypt, starting from lever machines whose essential parts appear in the hieroglyph writings. These machines influenced Egypt’s culture, written language, and became the tooling used to create the stone Pyramids. When the architect Imhotep created the Step Pyramid, the training of skilled craftsmen multiplied the economic productivity of Egypt. Monumental construction projects became a means to train, employ, and unite the nation. We will specifically investigate the granite vaults of Djoser and Sneferu and how the Grand Gallery was used to hide the burial location of Khufu.
