Michelle Zajko vehemently denies any involvement in the deaths of her parents. Yet, her name is inextricably linked to a shadowy group known as the Zizians. In a rambling, 20-page letter, Zajko defends Jack LaSota, the self-proclaimed leader of this enigmatic collective.
Authorities are less sympathetic, describing the Zizians as an "extremist group." This label isn't hyperbole; the group is allegedly connected to a string of killings stretching across the United States. The FBI is now coordinating investigations spanning multiple states, attempting to unravel the Zizians' web of violence.

The Zizians: Group Profile
The Zizians are not your typical cult. They are a small, insular collective comprised of highly educated individuals. Shared interests bind them: a fascination with artificial intelligence, a commitment to veganism, and a shared embrace of anarchist ideals.
But beneath the surface of intellectual pursuits lies something far more disturbing. These radical vegans are reportedly haunted by apocalyptic visions of an AI takeover. The group appears to be an offshoot of the rationalist community, twisted and distorted by extreme ideologies.
Animal rights and veganism are elevated to an almost religious fervor. They also subscribe to bizarre beliefs about gender and conflicting interests within the brain's hemispheres. LaSota, the group's leader, even advocated for unihemispheric sleep, a dangerous form of sleep deprivation.
Crimes Linked to the Zizians
The Zizians' alleged crimes paint a grim picture. The shooting death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland in Vermont is one such incident. Then there's the brutal attack and murder of California landlord Curtis Lind.
And we can't forget the chilling murders of Richard and Rita Zajko in Pennsylvania. These are just the cases that have surfaced so far. The true extent of the Zizians' alleged criminal activity remains unknown.
The death of Emma Borhanian during the attack on Curtis Lind adds another layer of complexity. She was shot by Lind in self-defense, further blurring the lines of victim and perpetrator.
Key Individuals and Their Roles
Jack LaSota, also known as Ziz, is the central figure in this disturbing narrative. Described as the leader of the Zizians, LaSota is a transgender woman and a computer engineer. Her background is as complex and unsettling as the crimes attributed to her followers.
Adding to the intrigue, LaSota reportedly faked her own death in a boating accident. She was later arrested in Maryland on trespassing and weapons charges, a far cry from the image of a grieving victim.
Michelle Zajko, daughter of the murdered Richard and Rita Zajko, is another key player. Despite denying involvement in her parents' death, she provided the gun used in the Vermont shooting. Like LaSota, she was arrested in Maryland on trespassing and weapons charges. Her past as a former NASA intern only deepens the mystery.
Daniel Blank, an associate of LaSota and Zajko, completes the trio arrested in Maryland. His role within the Zizians remains unclear, but his presence suggests a close-knit network.
Teresa Youngblut is accused of actually shooting at the Border Patrol agent in Vermont. She has pleaded not guilty to federal firearms charges, setting the stage for a potentially explosive trial.
Felix Bauckholt was a passenger in the car during the Vermont shooting. He was killed in the ensuing shootout, adding another layer of tragedy to the case.
Maximilian Snyder is charged with the murder of Curtis Lind. A University of Oxford-trained data scientist, his involvement highlights the Zizians' intellectual profile.
Suri Dao, also known as Joshua of Nazareth or Silver and Ivory, is accused of attacking Curtis Lind. A math whiz and transgender woman, Dao has struggled with diet and mental health while in custody.
Alex Leatham, also known as Somni, is another individual accused of attacking Curtis Lind. Described as an accomplished young nerd from southern California, Leatham has reportedly suffered health problems and transphobic treatment in custody.
Gwen Danielson, a former Zizian member, adds another layer of intrigue. She reportedly faked her own death, mirroring LaSota's alleged deception.
