The ever increasing popularity of the hatchback has resulted in its constant development over the past couple of decades but let's not forget the one who made it accessible and viable to imagine a premium version of this versatile car. Tata created the Indica to distinguish itself from the sea of Zens and Santros, with the space on offer and the introduction of a smaller diesel engine. Back then, the Indica had no competition but in 2020, Tata will have to put its best foot forward to compete in the premium hatchback segment. The contender? The new Tata Altroz.
