I love mythology origin stories! I think they are one of the best kinds because it shows how previous civilizations made sense of the beginning of the world.
Today mythology Monday is about the Quetzalcoatl. This is a serpent with feathers who is god of both light and wind as well as guardian of arts, science, books and learning. It comes from Aztec legends and tells the tale of how the gods of the Aztec world tried five separate times to make humanity and it didn’t take until the last time. All the previous times they made other gods who got in the way and ruined things, or ate everything in one case. Yes, one of the lower gods was a giant crocodile who ate everything they created after it.
This is one of those tales filled with weird and messed up monsters or gods.
