In Myanmar, violent crackdown continues in Rakhine state

The UN is calling for the Myanmar government to urgently address reports of human rights violations in the northern Rakhine state. Summary executions of civilians, many from the Rohingya minority group, are allegedly happening since a military crackdown started when nine policemen were killed earlier this month. But due to a ban of foreign journalists into the area, these allegations cannot be independently verified.
