Late last spring I was able to get a dozen of each of Italian Buckfast queens, and Carpathian queens from Ukraine. Due to the late season those queens were not added to production hives. Instead I used them in my twin nucs where my own cells had not resulted in mated queens. Under these adverse conditions, these queens did as well or better than my own queens.
