Trail to Horseshoe Harbor Beach from Mary Macdonald Preserve.
Excuse the heavy breathing - lots of loose stones and tripping tree roots along with my bell and any singing I do to scare off bears lol. This was my first time on the trail so I was unsure of how long it was or where it went except that it ended at the water. Figured it would be worth the hike and it was definitely worth the hike and scary drive there. Absolutely breath taking. There was a gentleman kayaking as Lake Superior was so calm, almost glass like.
The road to get to the trail head was a rough dirt road with tons of huge potholes that in spots was narrow enough for a solo automobile only. The road is not maintained in the winter and there is a sign stating this that makes it seem as though its closed even in the summer - it is not. There is a good size parking lot once you drive in, no restrooms though.
