However, Xiao mounted a remarkable comeback, winning the next four frames with breaks of 130, 88, and 85, ultimately clinching the match 4-3. This defeat marked one of O'Sullivan's most significant collapses in recent memory. 
The match was filled with tension, culminating in a nervy final-frame decider. At one point, O'Sullivan appeared to mutter an expletive after missing a crucial shot, reflecting his frustration during the game.
