Living on a Boat at the Famous Zaanse Schans (Near Amsterdam)

Let's be clear... Yes, the Zaanse Schans is full of tourists. Also, you should go see it at least once if you living or traveling in The Netherlands. We had already visited this "neighborhood" full of working windmills and distinctive green houses before, so this time, to make it interesting, we rented a boat that was literally next door!

We had a really fun time in this old, cozy, wood adorned boat that is moored in the Zaan River next to The Zaanse Schans. We were just a few minutes outside of our home in Amsterdam, but sleeping on the water and being able to walk over to see the windmills, made for a very fun weekend. We hope you enjoy following along!

We checked out the mills, the cheese shop (we got ice cream), the famous fast food found here in The Netherlands called "kapsalon" and much more while enjoying some great spring weather!
