A test drive turned up some great catches!
Working on The Girl in the Orange Hat's car, I took it for a ride to troubleshoot. Seeing a clear signal at CP WOOD, I headed back towards Highland in time to catch Norfolk Southern Heritage #8025, the Monongahela on a large intermodal.
Later in the day, @MrMiz1113 gave me a heads up on a maintenance of way ballast train headed west. I was able to catch it, it can be seen here: • Ballast Train Chase! Highland to Galilee -...
We then caught a coal drag headed by #4666 & 8095 with #7265 & #7303 as manned rear pushers.
Getting ready to head for home after the coal drag cleared, it sounded like an eastbound had just cleared Highland Cut. We stuck around for a mixed freight manifest train with Heritage #1073, the Penn Central, as a rear dpu.
A few days later, I again caught 4666 & #8095 on a mixed freight manifest at Highland Cut. This time, 4666 was running second and 8095 was a mid dpu.
There was some great graffiti and fallen flags in the consists.
