I make ash lye from hardwood ash from the wood stove on our off-grid homestead. It's easy, but takes some time. When the lye is finished, I make both liquid hand soap and soap bars with the homemade lye and purified lamb fat, tallow. Another home-made short-travel product for a more self-sufficient life here in the Norwegian forest🙂
