7 Signs You are growing Closer to God

When you decide to Live for God and not yourself you will change inside and out🤍


1.) You have a deeper desire and hunger for Him.
You have a greater and deeper hunger for God’s Word and wanting to hear and talk to God feels less like a checklist and more like a source of life and guidance, and you genuinely long for His presence.
•You want to read the Word, pray, worship, and be in His presence.
•Your heart starts craving God the way it used to crave worldly things.

2.) Conviction of sin.
You are becoming more sensitive to sin and things of the world that displease God, things that He wants us not doing.
•You are quicker to recognize and repent. Things you used to ignore now bother your spirit.
•Conviction isn’t condemnation it’s God lovingly guiding you back.

3.) Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
You recognize His voice and guidance more clearly. You are beginning to have discernment with other voices that are not God and know when something spoken isn’t from God. You recognize God’s voice more clearly.
•You develop discernment — you can tell when something is not from God.
•The Holy Spirit begins leading your decisions, your relationships, and your thoughts.
•You feel warnings and peace in a way you didn’t before.

4.) Fruits of the Spirit start to show in your life.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

-Fruits of the spirit, like fruit starts off as a seed but grows the more you water it and put effort into it and like with Out fruits they grow stronger as we grow with Christ and mature in the spirit.
—These start growing naturally not by your own strength but through the Holy Spirit.
•You notice your reactions and responses begin to change.


5.) A desire to share your faith.
You feel a growing passion to tell others about God’s love and truth. The Bible tells us in many scriptures that When the Holy Spirit begins to take over your life, one of the signs is a strong growing passion about God and wanting to share His truth among the world.

– Mark 16 verse 15. In this verse God wants us to share the gospel openly to the entire human race!

6.) You are willing to stay obedient to His Word to keep a strong relationship.
You listen to God and are obedient to His Word because when you try to run away from God and do the opposite (like rebellion), the consequences include feeling distant from God, and it hurts more than giving up things you once enjoyed.
Scripture tells us to deny our flesh and pick up our cross daily. Obedience becomes important to you — not out of fear, but love.

•You avoid rebellion because you know disobedience creates distance from God.
•You begin letting go of things God asks you to give up.

7.) Growth in love and forgiveness.
You notice you are more patient and compassionate, and it feels easier to forgive, even when it’s hard, because you become more like Jesus on this journey. And He tells us to forgive so He can forgive us for our mistakes.
