The gangster who bit off more than he could chew 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This is the story of a gangster they call The Iceman, who managed to claw his way from young street tough all the way to the top — from local hard man in a gritty 'hood to Scotland’s biggest gangster. Let me tell you about it.
The Mob Reporter here with the colorful, rollercoaster life of Jamie Stevenson, an outlaw nicknamed The Iceman, whose gangland firm was built on pills, dope, and coke in Glasgow, Scotland. He reached the top only after being named the only suspect in the murder of his gang’s boss, who also happened to be the best man at his wedding. The Iceman indeed.
Jamie Stevenson has the scars, he has the wanted posters, the thick police files and prison record, and the bold headlines to prove his outlaw status, but, only recently his place in Scotland’s hectic underworld has been undone, stumbling just as he was pulling off a gangland masterstroke.
Stevenson grew up in the hardscrabble north of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, where he built his reputation. This was in the 1980s, which were troubled times for Glasgow. His rise and fall spanned decades.
He reached his pinnacle, though, just as police in Europe pulled off an incredible coup — they hacked into an encrypted underworld phone system, called EncroChat, that promised ironclad secrecy, until this secret police breach revealed gangland’s many secrets. Including Stevensons'.
He had big secrets on his phone: a ton of cocaine on its way to Britain’s Port of Dover from Ecuador, hidden in a shipment of bananas, and his jaw-dropping bootleg pill factory in Kent, which was churning out millions of dangerous pills. It all made for a spectacular gangland fall. But please note the bizarre, suspicious timing of his arrest. It coincided precisely with the leak about the police EncroChat leak.
