Colas Railfreight Diesel Locomotive Fleet Review Continued

In this second video examining the Colas Rail diesel locomotive fleet I cover the Class 43 HST Power Cars, Class 56, Class 66, Class 70 and Class 67.

There are currently ten HST power cars listed in the Colas pool, these are used to work the Network Rail HST test trains.

In April 2012 Colas purchased four Class 56 locomotives. Further members of the class were later added to the fleet and there are currently ten locomotives in the Colas Class 56 pool.

In 2009 Colas leased five Class 66 diesel locomotives formerly operated by the collapsed Advenza Freight operation and Direct Rail Services. As part of a deal with the leasing company they were later renumbered and transferred to GBRf.

Colas placed an order for ten Class 70 diesel locomotives in November 2013 numbered in the range 70801 to 70810. These entered service in 2014. A further seven locomotives were ordered in 2015 and these entered service in 2017.

In January 2017 Colas purchased two Class 67 locomotives from DB Cargo UK. They were used for a short time to work network rail test trains. They have also recently been used to operate the seasonal RHTT trains in the west country.
