'Fancy' - A lot of people know this song from Reba's cover of it, but it was originally cut (and written) by one of my favourite artists of all time, Bobbie Gentry. She was a visionary ahead of her time, a woman who not only wrote, sang, and played guitar, but also produced records, wrote short stories, designed her own sets and costumes, and pioneered full-scale, flashy Vegas residencies at a time when it was uncommon for both women and country artists to do so. As a multi-disciplinary artist myself, I've always looked to her for inspiration (SJ).

Well, that was the last time I saw my Ma
The night I left that rickety shack
'Cause welfare people came and took the baby

I did what I had to do
