Khutbah: Last 10 nights & blessings of and catching Laylatul Qadr - Sh. Dr. Yasir Qadhi

The final 10 days of Ramadan are the most significant and important days of the entire year. There is no parallel.

Once the final 10 entered, the Prophet (pbuh) would exert himself unlike any other time in the year. He would spend most of the night in worship and wake his family too.

-Laylatul Qadr is the pinnacle of the entire year, holier than any other day/night.
-Surah Dhukan has 6 verses on Laylatul Qadr.
-The decision for the upcoming year is announced on this night to the angels
-No previous Ummah was blessed with this night
-83 years (1,000 months) of worship can be achieved by worshiping this one night
-Meaning of Qadr is "significance/glory"
-2nd meaning "the one who worships Allah becomes significant
-3rd meaning "tight and restricted" due to entire horizon being packed with angels when they descend, including Jibril (greatest of angels)
-Nothing changes Qadr other than du'a
-What are the blessings of Laylatul Qadr?
a) Quran was revealed on this night
b) Better than 1,000 months (83.3 years)
c) Allah calls it Laylatul Mubarakah ("night of extended good")
d) Only night that Jibril (a.s.) comes down
e) It is the night of peace, due to overwhelming presence of angels, shayateen are ineffective
f) Whoever prays entire night all of his previous sins are forgiven, as long as you stand believing in Allah and expecting Allah's reward
g) Allah has revealed entire surah on it (Surah Qadr)
Hadith: "Jibril told me what I am seeking is in the last 10"
