After a long winter it is time to plant up a Spring container full of beautiful Spring colored plants!
Today, we are planting Ranunculus, Pansies, Violas and Stock. We also used a lovely garden topiary as a focal piece.
These plants like the cooler temperatures and thrive and bloom well during the Springtime.
If several nights of frost is in the forecast, I will cover the container with a mid to heavy weight frost cloth and uncover during the day.
I also used a slow release fertilizer and mixed that in the soil to help keep these lovely Spring plants blooming.
These plants will continue to bloom until the temperatures start to get really hot. At that time, I can replant with warm season annuals if I choose to.
The Ranunculus will form “corms” which can be dug and saved for next year.
